Acrylic or melamine? Find your tile style.
A closer look at clear colour, layered edges and classic opaque finishes — and what to ask before choosing a collection.
The look of a mahjong tile begins with its material. In the Dui Dui Hu collection, acrylic and melamine offer two different starting points for the table you have in mind.
Acrylic: colour with another dimension
Acrylic lets you explore translucent greens, contrasting layers and glitter details. The Emerald collection puts clear colour at the centre; the Floral and Lotus collections draw attention to the edges as well as the printed faces. Start with the finish that fits your visual direction, then compare the artwork.
Melamine: a more traditional appearance
Our red melamine collection has an opaque body and a vivid red backing. If your brief calls for a familiar tile appearance with a confident colour, it is a useful place to start. The product photographs show the face designs and the finish in more detail.
Look beyond the photograph
Material is only one part of the decision. Ask for the exact dimensions, tile list, playing format and a sample. Compare the actual colour, feel and artwork before deciding which design belongs in your range.
